Urban design – atmospheric effect and technical feasibility
Urban development concepts must, on the one hand, take account of the existing spatial environment and the varied demands of different user groups, but on the other, open up new functions and quality facilities – creating impulses.
Filling the urban development concepts with concrete ideas that are underpinned by consistent designs revitalises the street and urban space. The selection of material is crucial here.
Whether a square or street area is intended to look calm and ordered or heterogeneous and broken up into small sections, we will develop the design in relation to the urban environment, the envisaged function and the atmospheric effect required in an integrated way across all service phases.
Light is a key orientation and design element in this context and is just as important to consider as the individual functional and design elements in improving the quality of the time people spend there (seating, fountains, sculptures).
Competitions
Design of urban space with traffic planning and technical expertise – Praxl + Partner participates in urban development competitions, together with planning partners as appropriate. The competition entries are distinguished by the fact that, in addition to design aspects, priority is always given to the functionality and feasibility of the traffic planning and the effect on the surrounding area of a solution.
